Product description

Gran Ducay keeps its artisanal essence and limited production, reminding the time when this cava was made for the 700 winery associates exclusive consumption. Made with grapes coming from Monte Ducay, one of the most characteristic terroirs in Cariñena, it is a highly expressive cava of fine bubble, an essential choice for all kind of celebrations.

Cava Gran Ducay has been qualified as excellent by several international competitions. Its artisanal making process requires a strict production control with the aim of guaranteeing its highest quality.

6 Bottle Box, Bottle

Golden yellow coloured with greenish hues, a light carbonic with appropriate bubble. Elegant ripe fruits aromas and intense hints of citrus combined with soft tones of lees ageing. Refreshing and dry on the palate, with good acidity and well-integrated carbonic, tasty and well balanced. Serving temperature: 8º – 10º C Pairing: it goes well with appetizers and starters.
After a first fermentation and bottling, a second fermentation into the bottle is made, called tiraje. In this process, the wine is mixed with yeasts helping sugar to be consumed and boosting fermentation. Right after, bottles are aged in contact with lees in the underground wine cellars, during a minimum period of 9 months, in which lees are settled in the bottleneck. After that, the disgorging is made, removing lees from the bottleneck with a minimum leak of sparkling wine. Finally, cava is corked, adding sparkling wine from other bottles in order to balance out the liquid lost during the disgorging.
Grape varieties: Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel.lo. Aging: as minimum during a period of 9 months into the bottle before the disgorging. Volume: 75 cl. Alcohol: 11.5% vol.
