The Winery: BSV Group

Bodegas San Valero was born as a wine cooperative in 1945, gathering 60 grape growers from the county of Cariñena. Today it comprises over 700 active members who own about 4.000 hectares of vineyard. Nowadays, Bodegas San Valero and Gran Ducay have formed the BSV Group.

The company has a technical team which includes œnological and farming experts who closely monitor the growth of the vines, from the pruning season to the maturation of the grape, thus determining the best time for the grape harvest and the final destination of the product once harvested. The processes used to make the wine are a combination of our traditional good craft and the latest œnological techniques, gathered in the search for continuous improvement. BSV is one of the few bodegas in Spain that controls the whole cycle of production, from the stock to the glass, that is, from the grape harvest until the bottled wine reaches the customer's mouth, which guarantees the control of the quality and presentation of our product.

One of the biggest assets of the BSV Group are its "terroirs", the plots of land where the grapes are grown. In the place known as Monte Ducay, with its stony, sandy and light ground, we grow the vines for one of our best wines in the bodega, sold under the same name: Monte Ducay. In the reddish ground of the plot called Dehesa de la Marquesa, the Marqués de Tosos was born, the flagship of the group.

Gran Ducay Bodegas has put together the best vineyards, facilities and production processes with the aim of responding adequately to the customer's demands, offering the trademarks of Monte Ducay and Marqués de Tosos.
